Our 2022 Fall Conference Will Be Held in Person on Sept. 16!

The Illinois Journalism Education Association Conference has been helping to build skills and tenacity in high school journalists for generations. We are delighted to announce that planning has begun for the IJEA Fall Conference 2022. Save the date:

Friday, Sept. 16, 2022
8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Illini Union | University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign



The day begins with our keynote speaker, followed by breakout sessions, lunch and more breakout sessions:

• Keynote speaker (TBA) — 9:15 a.m.
• Session I — 10:15 to 11 a.m.
• Session II — 11:15 to noon
• Lunch — noon to 1:15 p.m.
• Session III — 1:15 to 2 p.m.

Sessions will include tips and advice on:

• Broadcast Journalism
• Print and Editorial Journalism
• Yearbook Design and Writing
• Digital Reporting
• Journalism Preparation for College



Advisors: $20 attendance fee. Additional advisors attending who are from the same school (not district) are free. This includes an invitation to the Advisors Luncheon (students are on their own for lunch).

Students: $5 attendance fee.

Bus Parking: $35 per bus. This includes mini-buses. Buses will drop off attendees at the Illini Union and then head to State Farm Center to park. There is no advance or reserved street parking for mini-buses.

How to Pay: Please do NOT send money. Checks will be accepted at the registration table during check-in at the conference. Checks can be made out to Illinois Journalism Education Association. Register here.
