IPF awards Illinois high schools with $25,000 in grants
21 schools receive funds to help their scholastic journalism programs thanks to the Illinois Press Foundation

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Press Foundation, the 501(c)3 arm of the Illinois Press Association, has announced the awarding of $50,500 in grants, according to a press release on the IPF website.
The grants include $25,000 to high school journalism programs and $20,000 to high school journalism camps at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
Another $4,000 in awards will go to adult learners and their tutors in literacy programs around the state, and $1,500 will be used to send an Eastern Illinois University student to Washington, D.C., as part of a National Newspaper Association fellowship program.
