IJEA newspaper and multimedia advisers: The new platform for our annual Newspaper & Digital News Media Contest is now up and running! You can find it here:

2022 IJEA Newspaper & Digital News Media Contest Platform

When you arrive at the platform homepage, please read the section titled “SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS.” This will guide you through the entry submission process.

Thanks to our partnership with BetterBNC, the new platform will offer a smoother and more efficient contest experience.

Our competition categories and basic scoring structure remain unchanged from recent years, but participants will use the BNC platform to submit their entries. The platform replaces the online entry forms that our contest had used from spring 2016 to spring 2021.

However, we will be using one holdover from our previous contest procedure. We are asking that each participating adviser fill out and submit the Adviser Information Form, which provides information essential to determining the proper enrollment division and publication category for each school.

So to sum up, entering the 2022 contest will consist of two steps:

1) Submission of the Adviser Information Form.

2) Submission of entries via our new contest platform.

In addition, there will be a one-time entry fee of $20. As in the past, all advisers of competing schools must be current members of the IJEA. The membership fee for 2021-22 is $25.

More information about the contest, including payment of fees, is available on the new platform homepage and here on the IJEA website.

The deadline for this year’s contest submissions will be 10:59 p.m. Central Standard Time on March 25, 2022. With respect to that deadline, the new platform will automatically cease accepting entries at that time, so deadline extensions will no longer be possible as they were in previous years.

We believe the new platform will make the process of submitting your entries even easier than before. The judging process will also be more efficient under the new system, and the results will be organized and collated much more quickly for distribution to all participants.

Thank you for your past support of IJEA and all of our competitions. We are excited about this next step in what we can offer our members!
