IJEA Friend of Scholastic Journalism Form

IJEA FRIEND OF SCHOLASTIC JOURNALISM


THE AWARD: Each year, the IJEA honors an individual or group that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to scholastic journalism. In selecting honorees, IJEA seeks to recognize those who:

  • Assist IJEA and/or its advisers/members in promoting high standards in scholastic journalism and in elevating the status of media programs in secondary education.
  • Support opportunities for interaction of student staffs, teachers and those in the professional media whenever possible.
  • Serve as an exemplary model for students in secondary media programs.

PRESENTATION: The award is presented at the annual IJEA Fall Conference held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

PAST RECIPIENTS: Previous honorees include the Illinois Press Foundation, the Illinois High School Association, newspaper publishers and association directors. Past recipients and advisers who are members of IJEA are encouraged to submit nominations for this award.

ANNUAL DEADLINE: This form must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. May 1 of the current school year.
