WELCOME! Thank you for your interest in the Illinois Journalism Education Association! We are delighted to welcome you into our community of advisers and teachers.

WE ADVOCATE FOR YOU! We are proud of our organization, which led the charge for an Illinois student media bill, signed into law in July 2016, that significantly strengthened protections for student journalists and their advisers. We advocate for you — and for your students!

To submit the PDF via email, attach it to a message titled "2024-25 IJEA Membership" and send it to [email protected]. If you would prefer to mail in a hard copy of the form, the mailing instructions are included in the PDF.

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP: Mail us a check. We are not yet accepting online payments, so please pay by check regardless of whether you submit our online membership form or our PDF form.

A NOTE ABOUT MEMBERSHIP: Once we receive your payment, you and your students will be eligible for the full benefits of IJEA membership. All 2024-25 single-year IJEA memberships are effective from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.

JEA OPTION: You have the option of using this form to join national JEA. To do so, select your JEA membership directly below and include the JEA membership fee in your payment to IJEA. As a bonus, IJEA receives $5 back from the national organization.
